Save Your Oakland Stories

In partnership with the Oakland History Center, GEMS recorded a day of oral histories at the Oakland Main Library in 2023 with various members of the Oakland community. Recordings will be available in the library’s online collections.

On Being & Dance Generators

Recorded and edited audio for On Being and Dance Generators videos where pairs of younger and older members of the dance company reflect on their experience connecting and moving together as intergenerational partners.

Recorded in 2019, this independent project highlights stories of LGBTQ+ individuals over the age of 60 who have lived in the Bay Area for 20+ years. Excerpts offer a taste of the rich experiences of LGBTQ+ elders and add their narratives to a larger landscape of East Bay stories.
